Pad Play Mode Operation
The number of the currently selected sample appears on the display.
The indication "SCALE" appears on the display.
The sample selected in step 1 is assigned to all pads 1 - 8, and the
pad tuning is automatically changed using a Major scale, using pad 1
as the prime. For example, if the original pitch was middle C, the
tuning for the various pads, depending on the pad chosen in step 5,
will be as follows.
If the selected bank already contains
pads with samples, these will be
erased.
When wishing to cancel the
automatic assignment process,
press the [EXIT] key.
When wishing to use a different
scale, edit the TUNING parameter
for each pad in step 6 (
p. 32).
NOTE
HINTHINT
Sometimes it may be useful to assign the same sample to several pads and play the pads with changed
pitch (such as when a single bass note was sampled). The ST-224 can automatically assign one sample to
pads 1 - 8 and change the pad tuning using a Major scale.

Use the [BANK 1] - [BANK 3] keys to select the bank to which you want to assign the sample.
